Metal: Hatfields has an extensive archive of many thousands of historic bronze mounts and handles dating back nearly 200 years. This is a valuable source for advising on the integrity of many conservation projects enabling period designs to be utilized.
Fixings: This collection does not only consist of visible mounts, handles, locks, etc, but also many hand turned screws, round headed and clout nails, wire bow keys, from the 18th and 19th centuries, allowing us to maintain historically accurate conservation
Timber: Our timber archive of historical veneers and planks consists of many hundreds of pieces dating back to the 18th century. This is a unique resource which again ensures our ability to produce the finest conservation on important historical pieces.
Finishes: We retain many old mordants and dyes that allow our finishers to recreate original stains to better match the historic finishes on which they are working.
